Life in the Datsche

I had that underling background

But always thought that my grammar would work

If bad was still bad, good was good

But then they started to measure

After something else instead and I

Have started to doubt that it could

I used to be so intrigued by that world for so long I

Had to pause and make sure that it was true

For the first time I felt it held no fascination

Why keep what is real and good supressed

When instead I could make use of the last protest

And live life in the datsche

Suppose they feel so in front that

They don't see how the people here

Now rather go for the draughty or austere

Just to be warmed by the fact that

Their own grammar is intact

And stays outside of control of their sphere

I used to be so intrigued by this world for so long I

'cause when you're told to keep what's real and
