I was a soldier, when no one else controlled you

And no one else would fight for your rights

Writing from the 4th of dawn, I peer an empty pantheon

A sanctuary just for the night

Long are the hours waiting on a bandage

Running from the angel inside

Now I’m on the move again thank you for your time again

Someday I’ll return to your side

Not today, they carry me away

A band of light in the sky

Night has fallen again

Only inside do I cry

How I should warn you they only trick and thorn you

Nothing is as nothing should be

Cup full of liquor to quench the iron vicar

Pretend I’m not the only enemy

But days pass I wonder where we might have ended

If only I had stayed by your side

But duty-trouble called me a dirty double hog’s head

Lay in the tracks where somebody lied

Fighting for the freedom to flee

You were my sermon singing from the front lines

Carrying me through to victory

But now it seems chameleon, changing like the seasons

Only want and puzzle for the cause

Red lines are drawn again and we are just the cinnamon

Sap in their political claws
