The Weight of Things

Time is precious now

and time was always precious in the past

but I was wondering

how we can make it last

when for me it’s still a concept I can’t grasp

A glance in the mirror reveals

a snapshot of the present but it feels

like an image that won't last

a fading memory of the past

Lately I'm attracted to quaint places, sights and views

I've been phasing out the noise, my friends, the news

I've been here a lot for me, I haven't for you

now is it better to wilt away or to burst out in bloom?

This cold

This bleak

This empty space

This dark

This sad

This hollow place

What if you run away

What if you were to stay

It’s alright

It’s all that we have

It’s all that we get

And we're finally here

to take our final form

And we’re finally here

to accept what we've become

I had to see what I wanted too
