I was building temples out of words Esteem bowed to what I heard Looking for the love That made me feel like I was Worth something in this world Voids from when I was a girl Their opinions of me I put them above You Got caught up in it all I forgot to first seek You Jesus Tear down my altars Give me the Kingdom Only You can alter My heart I was making idols out of dreams No sleep, building legacies Chased desires of mine With 5 to 9s But did I ever ask if they were Yours If You said no, would I change my course Focused on the grind Instead of making time for You Got caught up in it all I forget to first seek You Jesus Oh Jesus Tear down my altars Give me the Kingdom Only You can alter My heart Brick by brick Stone by stone Tear em down Till they're gone Lord, I can't do This alone Change me Till every part of me You own Lord, give me You All else, it can move To make space for alterations That's a fitting room Make my heart mold to Your desires Throw the pedestals In the fire Tear down my altars Give me the Kingdom Only You can alter My heart
