Not Today

I'm feeling sad from days long gone Like we did something wrong to make them move along And in my head my memories they play on endlessly like movies And it feels like it did seven years ago or yesterday Can't tell the difference and I can't make out the shapes This is insane and I'm still searching for what matters And I'm not sure if I'll find it but I hope I do someday There was a time when I wouldn't admit my mistakes But not today Today I'm easy And it's good you got me Right where you want me Was there a time when life was ever easy? Or maybe that was just a story that they told to appease me But lesson learning comes a little harder to me than to most And if you need the proof I'll point you to the time I swear I saw a ghost That was the past and I'm pretty sure this is now - now!
