Joan tread soft before but she didn't care much anymore for that

Long ago she lost someone, the one to which all other ones fall short

The wind always blew from where she needed to be

And still she set her course,

She kept an old boy kind of close, at arm's length and ready to throw away

A love was there but time was not, time she said he never got to live

Overwhelmed by underhanded tricks to teach the tiller in the field

So she left him just last week with a couple of seeds and a hoe to keep at it
