Knight of Mercy

I once had all the glory I once had all the fame Had everything laid perfectly And sealed into my name I was destined to bring order and assist those who were in need With humility and great respect I turned far from any greed And upon my horse I rode into every war that I had fought With all the speed and all the power That I could have possibly brought I was praised by the king who said solemnly "You're a man of the people who'll succeed greatly" He filled me with hope and the pride I felt But I was unaware of the hand I'll be dealt I was the Knight of Mercy Slaughtering all of my enemies Knight of Mercy Fighting for honor and loyalty Then after the war as the smoke had cleared Each one of my soldiers came to me and cheered The king said "good job! I'm proud of you." And he started to walk right out of my view But his marching came to a sudden halt When from behind him his name hath been called A figure upon the fog appeared It was a source of competition that I had feared And so the lone rider rode into town He was wearing leather armor and a plastic crown He said to the king "please listen to me I wanna be your knight in your cavalry Your knight of mercy Fighting with courage on my noble steed Knight of mercy Conquering armies with incredible speed" I must not let this become my end For I swore to everyone whom I defend I am their brave knight as I was before Fighting for freedom in every war But I was losing this fight As a wannabe knight Just trying to make things right But I found whats in sight My title is all I need to revive As the perfectly effective possible plight of my life I am the Knight of mercy Swinging with my sword most gallantly Knight of mercy Forever and always my destiny
