Why don't we find solace in knowing we have something to mould

I could make the Mona Lisa with my bare hands

But still never be able to place value on my art

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks

That's why many of our lives look like dead trees

Committing treason before we've reached our peak and now we're wondering

Why it's 12:34 and we can't sleep

Truth be told we're longing for something deeper

Truth be told we're done crying the river

Unable to look in the mirrors so we start digging beneath the timber at the roots

Trying to stop the lake from flowing without being properly equipped

The fact is we need truth

The kind of truth that pierces the soul

The one that comes with a burning sensation that when you grasp it

it melts away the icebox concealing your temptations

strong enough to quench your lamentations
