Prayed a prayer last night to Heaven It wasn't fancy kinda plea And I was feeling sad and lonely Like I'd lost my greatest friend And I had no one left to talk to And my eyes were filled with tears When I heard my Savior answer And it was music to my ears He said, "My child, I will forgive you You know that's why I bled and died And all the struggles you've been facing All the pain you feel inside And I know you're truly sorry For the wrong things that you've done Just remember, child, I love you Like the father loves his son" Talked it over with Jesus And He explained it all so well How He gave his life to save me From the awful fires of hell And I listened with amazement As He spoke to me at home And He assured of His promise That he'd come back to take me home He said, "My child, I will forgive you You know that's why I bled and died And all the struggles you've been facing All the pain you feel inside And I know you're truly sorry For the wrong things that you've done Just remember, child, I love you Like the father loves his son" "Yeah, just remember, child, I love you Like the father loves his son"
