I remember the sound

Of you pulling in the driveway

Impatiently waiting

For those headlights in the window

The smell of cologne

When that door came swinging open

Your five o clock shadow

My head against your shoulder

There’s so much left unsaid

So much left unfinished

If this is how it’s written

I don’t want to read the rest

Cause I’m tired of goodbyes

Saying live in the moment

But we’re all on borrowed time

I remember the taste

Of the cold air in the morning

Her voice from the kitchen

As she made herself some coffee
