Wedding Season

I'm walking through Manhattan And I can't avoid the crowds Of lovers holding hands and kissing sweetly as they walk Into the city underground We used to be just like them But the distance brought us down And when you moved back to Austin I took every flight I could So we could try to work this out Waking up without you I've gotten used to it by now But our friends are getting married and I can't help wondering why We couldn't seem to settle down Because I really thought we'd make it And in my head I planned it out But when I talked about forever you'd just brush me off because You were stuck in the right now Now it's wedding season And I don't have you by my side And I thought about just leaving when I watched them say their vows Because I pictured you and I As I said my final prayer It's okay that you're not there Because I finally found my peace And I hope you find yours too Now I'm walking in the rain Because I've washed away this pain And life goes on
