A Bastard's Shame

You left me behind

You walked away without regret and never thought of me

I'm just a stain

But I found the strength to bloom among the pain

Blacklight reveals the blemish inside

The scars corrupt my heart beat

Unworthy of the forgiveness

Bestowed upon me without a price

The sins of my forebearer

Seared in my mind

Still I try

To reach for the truth

That gives me the strength to carry on

And resist a bastard's shame
