We might pick the BBC - we might pick GB “News”

And they’ll make the future from their own standpoints and views

But here, now, in this capsule of the past

I’ve got my moment!

I’ll write it down and I’ll make it last

Divided opinions and divided broadcast streams

We seek sanctuary in whatever fits our schemes

We can find a deity that’s got more likes than yours

Stay safe in the echo chambers - always get applause

But here, now, in this capsule of the past

I’ve got my moment!

Here, now, with pen and paper and a CD-r

An ancient computer and of course a cheap guitar

In the hands of media and the three minute slot

The future’s made by winners

Not the ones that time forgot but

But here, now, in this capsule of the past

The losers get their moment

Whole genres slip away in the mists of broadcast time

You don’t need a ten minute song when two will do just fine

Or there’s no time for the adverts!

Or The personality DJ!

No time for traffic news or phone-ins
