Sitting on a chesterfield just left outside to die

A crooked bedside table and a lamp with one good eye

It looked just like a talk show that’s on very late at night

You lived in the housing complex right across the lane

It seemed like a police car was called there everyday

Sometimes there’d be bottles we’d exchange for Beaujolais

Then interview each other with a rolled up Chatelaine
