Lyrics

Scrubbing out the stains from our eyes,
The stories we settled on scatter into the sky
So slowly.
There's a wave blooming into a sunrise.
We'll keep it safe through the storm and the mudslides,
Holding on to what barely survives through the despair.
Wanna fold a paper crane, so I take my bandage off,
And pull out from the head wound:
The ink and glue and glitter bombs
To see us through every disaster that we face
Or toss ourselves into.
I can see it, though the jar got shook,
And the dirt swirls around where I look,
I hold on to a hope that I've found.
There's a deeper thing to be met
Where the sun shines on the sediment.
Here we go making dust out of twilight,
Spinning gold, hand-in-hand, standing side-by-side,
Out the top of a jar of fireflies.
