When I was young I would stay out all night

Binging my troubles away

Now I wake up from the nightmares in flight

Exhausting me every day

Then I lock the gate

Go to sleep at eight

When I try to sleep, I just weep, I can’t sleep.

Middle Age is being tired, out of breath

Pay the bills, take my pills, and my head fucking kills

Grocery store, fix the door, and then come back for more

Wake at dawn, mow the lawn, now my wellbeing is gone

Stay up late, masturbate, ain’t anxiety great

In my head, state of dread, get to bed, can’t eat bread, under fed, but well read, seeing red

Tonight I’m busting out to see,

Music that stirs my memory.

Raise a glass with all my friends

So that we justify our ends
