There are times when I make choices

That are far from good on paper

I get distracted and obsessive

But then somehow there’s a lightness

To mistakes you make on purpose

To the moment and the chemistry.

Will we ever let the love in?

And that he died so I’d be free.

But then she said

A woman’s role is procreation

That to love a man, is an abomination

I made laughter my defense

Because she said it with such innocence

“If that’s not the truth then tell me”.
