Lyrics

It's Friday morning and it started to get light
And then I woke up and rushed out
And it was the most wonderful morning
And I got up to watch the sunrise
Which I did so many times
And now I want to share it with you
The sky was still dark blue, cobalt blue
And the sea when a little red streak appeared on the horizon
And suddenly the red streak started
To get larger and larger and thicker
And then appeared the red ripples on the water
First only very slight little red ripples
And then it got stronger
And then it suddenly looked like if blood would have been spilt
Now it's turning gold
Really orangey gold
And the sun is full and round
And the streak is thick
And the ripples are larger
I wonder if you can hear the waves splashing on the shore
A little cock is crowing in the distance
And this magnificent wonder of God's world
Every day grips me so tight
And makes my eyes fill with tears
And pray with gratitude
And thank God that I'm still here and alive
And can look forward to another day
And perhaps with God's help many many more days
And I have so very few words for describing this magnificent view here
With little fishing boats right out coming
Back now with their catch to the shore
And with the distant mountains, the Malaga and Granada mountains
Which are always topped with snow, snowy white caps
And all this which is in front of us
I'm still waiting and hoping that the little cock will crow again
But I don't think he wants to
He only greeted the sun like me
We both probably felt the same way
Had to shout out our feelings
