Prelude

A friend asked me something a few years back.

We uh, we were just hanging out and

They turned to me in the dark of the night and

Uttered one simple question.

Why do we as people love the idea of escaping our realities so much?

Few years later, and I uh,

I find myself asking the same thing.

Why is it easier for us to give up?

To tell ourselves, this is it and have it be so.

To pursue comfort and vices in the face of challenge.
