Lyrics

The sun was casting rays across that dusty window sill
That early morning haze was hangin, over the fields
I can still recall Ol' Grandma, with that Bible on her knee
Tuggin' at her glasses, just strainin' to see
Well l reverently approached her, and made myself a seat
With tear she took my hand and smiled at me
She was talkin' to Jesus, and He was talkin' through her to me
I can still hear those words so soft and sweet
Precious prayers that meant so much to me, she'd say
I thank you for Your mercy, I clearly don't deserve
And I thank you for the grace I know that I could never earn
I thank you for Your love, that goes on until the end of time
When I think of all that I am thankful for
Lord I'm thankful that I am Yours, and You are mine
Many suns have set since Granny has went home
What I wouldn't give to just call her on the phone
There's so many stories that I'd love to tell
About how those precious prayers that she prayed
So many times have saved my soul from hell
You'll never know how much they mean until they're not around
So cherish all the memories you're makin now
This life is so much more than wealth and fame
You can't take anything with you anyway
If you ever feel you're going astray
Just remember those prayers that Grandma prayed
I thank you for Your mercy, I clearly don't deserve
And I thank you for the grace I know that I could never earn
I thank you for Your love, that goes on until the end of time
When I think of all that I am thankful for
Lord I'm thankful that I am Yours, and You are mine
