You say I’m righteous but I second guess You

It ain’t that I don’t believe You but I feel misaligned

There’s a disconnect between Your word and how I live my life

Notice how I said “I feel” right?

Led by my emotions instead of Your light

Aiming to be perfect ’stead of doing what’s right

Just because I love You and You gave up Your life for me

So I should give mine up for You?

My whole lifestyle should be to worship You in spirit & truth

But my sinful nature got me tripping

Cuz the good I wanna do I do not do

But instead the evil tho I know it hurts You

Can’t seem to stay true even tho You faithful

For Your mercy Lord I’m grateful

When I wanna be hateful to people that are playful with my heart remind me of Your grace Lord

Times when my tongue get slick cuz my heart sick from the pain and the trauma I’ve endured

Submitting to pessimism as if it’s gonna keep me from getting hurt

Only blocking the blessings You got in store

Ain’t tryna sound like a victim I take full accountability for all I am contributing

To my own suffering
