William’s Spring

Everything is in color again

Spring has come to slow down the winds

And it brought you with it

Moon is high in the field newly plowed

Woods are singing the song of the cows

And I trace the freckles on your skin

Daffodils bloom into the mist

Clover floods my body with its kiss

And it feels the same as your lips

Southern mud seeps into my bones

Honeysuckle grows me a throne

And I find your touch between the vines

William’s spring has come to carry me

Out to see whoever I can be

And I’ll follow his light into the dusk
