Tail Eater

Really, please, I just want to get some sleep but

my head is full of snakes and all these snakes love eating sheep

How they worm themselves into every hidden little crevice where they’ve got

no business being, giving me venomous thoughts

Okay, lie down and let’s try counting them again but

the sheep are scared of scales and fangs and keep running away

I might just end up building a fence with said scales instead

To keep them from escaping my poor poisoned little head

One, two, three, I see you drifting off but something seems

weird, there’s something that your sleepy sheepies missed when they were counted

and that somebody is me

See, I made it everybody else’s problem that I can’t get any stupid sleep
