Far Too Soon

"Forgive me, please," he said to her

"If I loved you too much"

Beneath the secret tree, there they were

Smiling as their fingers touched

"You should know," she said, "for me

Too much could never be

He squeezed her tight, made her his wife

And promised her the moon

Her eyes shone bright, they lived their life

They sang a merry tune

He's gone now and so is she

Buried under her moon

Lying under the secret tree
