Lyrics

I was face to face with death, but I’m still here to tell,
Two grizzly bear attacks, yeah, it felt like hell,
But I survived that mountain, I'm standin' tall,
A double brush with the wild, but I ain't gonna fall.
Early fall mornin', Madison valley wide,
Three miles in the woods, on that Montana ride,
Saw a mama bear with cubs, thought they ran away,
But little did I know, I wasn’t outta harm’s way.
Turned my head, saw her comin' real fast,
40 yards, full charge, heart beatin' like a blast.
Pulled the bear spray, yeah, gave her that mist,
But she broke through it all, no mercy in her fist.
On the ground, I laid still, prayin’ she’d go,
Felt those teeth dig deep, in the muscle and bone.
But she backed off, leavin' me in the dust,
Thought it was over, but I still didn’t trust.
Checked my wounds, blood drippin’, man it’s real,
But I gotta keep movin', only my grit and will.
I was face to face with death, but I’m still here to tell,
Two grizzly bear attacks, yeah, it felt like hell,
But I survived that mountain, I'm standin' tall,
A double brush with the wild, but I ain't gonna fall.
On the trail again, thinkin' I'm free,
But the bear came back, I couldn’t believe what I see.
Ten feet away, no time to react,
She hit me again, took me down in a smack.
Numb hand, broken bone, blood in my eyes,
Pain blocked out by adrenaline high.
She bit harder this time, like a hammer with fangs,
Liftin' me up, slammin’ down with those bangs.
Stayed still, heart poundin’, didn’t make a sound,
Just hopin' she'd stop and not tear me down.
Her claws in my back, breath on my neck,
Thought that’s it, I’m cashin’ in my final check.
I was face to face with death, but I’m still here to tell,
Two grizzly bear attacks, yeah, it felt like hell,
But I survived that mountain, I'm standin' tall,
A double brush with the wild, but I ain't gonna fall.
She stood on me, man, felt that weight,
Forty seconds of silence, trapped by fate.
Then she was gone, I didn’t dare move,
Gripped my pistol tight, had somethin' to prove.
Survived not once but twice in the same day,
Got to the truck, man, I’m here to say.
[Outro]
It took months to heal, scars remind me of that fight,
But I’m alive, Montana, and I’m doin' all right.
No more hikes alone, nah, I learned that quick,
But I lived through the wild, yeah, call me Lukas Blake, real slick.
Two grizzly bears, but I beat the odds,
Now I walk with strength, and I thank my God.
I was face to face with death, but I’m still here to tell,
Two grizzly bear attacks, yeah, it felt like hell,
But I survived that mountain, I'm standin' tall,
A double brush with the wild, but I ain't gonna fall.
