I sat down to write a happier song

But I could only try for so long

Despite my intentions, it's so very clear

It's just another sad song that nobody's gonna hear

I told my hands to make 'em dance

But my stubborn heart never gave me a chance

They say the best way to kill a career

Is keep on singing sad songs that nobody's gonna hear

I wish it was easy to lie

I try to remember there's people out there

Who just wanna laugh, who don't wanna care

If I close my eyes, will they all disappear
