Lyrics
There was a time not long ago when all my trees were green
The world was an open book all I had to do was read
I wrote some chapters in my book- some were fine, some not so much
But they were chapters no one else could touch
I look back upon those days, the good ones and the bad
Today, there's nothing I can do to stop the hourglass
I sit here all alone with nothing left to lose
I've got them low-down-can't-do-nothin-'bout-'em-middle-aged blues
My trees are almost at their peak, August in the air
I put more chapters in my book, but no one really cares
The folks I love the most will move along somehow
And I'll look back on those chapters, Oh I miss them now
I look back upon those day, the good ones and the bad
Today, there's nothing I can do to stop the hourglass
I'm sit here all alone with nothing left to lose
I've got them low-down-can't-do-nothin-'bout-'em-middle-aged blues
I look back upon those days, the good ones and the bad
Today, there's nothing I can do to stop the hourglass
I'm sit here all alone with nothing left to lose
I've got them low-down-can't-do-nothin-'bout-'em-middle-aged blues
Yeah, I've got them low-down-can't-do-nothin-'bout-'em-middle-aged blues
I've got them low-down-can't-do-nothin-'bout-'em-middle-aged blues
