True Poetry, Pt. 2

What’s Up with all of the thunder and lightning? The pouring of rain

Sounding like pots and pans, patiently waiting for the storm to end

So I can see the rainbow and the bright beams of the sun

This storm is a very depressing one, dark and lonely, slow and long

I feel like this storm will never end, filled with sorrow, covered in pain

Not even a Band-Aid will cover the scars that I have within me

I’m still waiting for the rain to stop, but it is still storming

I sit there patiently waiting, covered in doubt and fear

Wondering if I’d ever be happy when the time is near

The storm finally ends and it looks very bright and beautiful sun shining

Vibrant colors of the rainbow, nothing can ruin my day now

Finally feeling all the happiness, love, and self-confidence that I desperately needed

The storm was what I needed to get to the radiant and positive side of my life

The rain watered my flowers and made them bloom

My garden is very beautiful and vibrant, I’m definitely at peace with it

But, here’s one thing, I’d never like to experience another storm again, not again

What more do you want from me?

I attempted to be there for you, but all you do is just ignore

You really don’t care, do you?

Wasted time and energy every second of every single day

You don’t feel any remorse?

My beautiful brown eyes flooded with tears and despair

Wondering was I not good enough for you? Where’d I go wrong? This is not the place where I’d belong

Don’t feel safe, don’t feel secure, I don’t feel valued or loved by you

You attempt to call out for me, but my response to you is access denied, access denied

We argue, we fight, you always try to turn a wrong into a right and that’s absolutely not right

I opened up to you, showed you my flaws, gave you my all

Unconditional love and this is what I get in return?

But that’s okay, would you like to know why?

Wins and losses, I’ve been in the dark working on my problems tryna become a better version of me

I expressed what I wanted to do with you, on the kitchen counter to the shower

But you just hit me with a reaction to my text said we have to FaceTime next

I said I’ll have you fall in love by looking into my eyes, but you just said lol

Tried to kill it off but it keeps coming back around

Going to New York for the night, I know guys gonna be hitting your line, your line

Don’t waste your time cause I know you’re not an angel

Oh not you, but I want you, am I ever gonna feel love again woah?
