They come for the one, the other won't speak

It's fiction turned fact in a present so bleak

These are the things

That we shouldn't have to say

But we find ourselves reiterating anyway

LISTEN

For goodness sake

Such a subjective invocation might

have been a mistake

A pipe dream of a social contract

With all the best words underlined

Compassionate, considerate

And unilaterally signed

Is it just rose-coloured glasses,

didn't it use to be self-evident?

Zero tolerance for intolerance

Is always self-defence

Fuck being phobic

Fuck reproducing hate

It'd be cool if you were cool

And it might not be too late
