Lyrics

Let’s take it back, to 2012. I was 13 years old when I first had started rapping, ain’t have a pen and pad so I wrote shit on a napkin, ain’t know much about the world just knew I had to make it happen, I ain’t know if rap was for me but somehow it became my passion, when I finally shared my dream, it was snickering and laughing, yea they took me for a joke, I ain’t never fit in school that’s why I really hate the classroom… I grew up an only child, I had no one to share my thoughts with, I couldn’t build my confidence, a slave to my culture, so success wasn’t obvious, but I ain’t come here, for monetary gain, I’m just trynna build my opulence, I had both my parents but I barely had a pot to piss, but I never whined or complained cuz I knew I had it better, compared to some of my peers, barely past a decade, but wise beyond they years, lived fast died young, they was wet behind the ears, seen a couple bodies drop that only magnified my fears, the shine of that life, not as bright as it appeared, cuz that flash from that barrel shined brighter still… Dalontay said Kanaan, because of your background they never gon hear you, cuz you never been to jail, they ain’t never gon fear you, they never gon respect you cuz you never sold a rock, they never gon love you cuz you never hugged a block, but I’m so Baltimore I remember when the bus had them white and blue stops, I remember I was waiting for the five at the bottom of the block,
Fast forward now I’m on my way to the top, I ain’t just come from nowhere, I been sitting i been meditating, cultivating knowledge for the time that I was predicating, this shit is life or death, I ain’t here to be an object or an image for your imitation, every word I spit is fueled by suffering fear and indignation, grab you by your pockets but your soul is where I’m penetrating, yeah it took ten years to master but I promise yea I been amazing… cuz ever since a kid, all I knew was real, everybody round me know I tell it like it is, sometimes I sugarcoat it sometimes I might not, just depend on how I feel, but today I feel like … Huh! it’s fuckin heatwave, bodies rising in the summer, every day another death, they colliding by the number, yeah my hood a black hole, steady trynna drag you under, I got love for my city, but it’s like I see the reaper lurking round every corner, so I gotta keep a burner fore they burn me wit no warning, cuz I rather go to jail then let you cook me like a foreman, but when it’s gyon stop cuz all this shit is getting boring, we can’t even live, to tell the kids stories, reminisce on old times, bask in our glory, cuz I done seen a couple ****, die past forty, you ain’t gotta know my name, cuz I’m just trynna tell my story, and I ain’t saying nuthin new, I’m just trynna speak the thoughts, of the ones that came before me, and breathe life into the game cuz it got some rigor mortis, when I was young it was a flame, then it turned into a bonfire this shit is so enormous, I just pray that all these words, can save us from this torment, and build a new path, to the future that we forming … Golden Soul
