He hums

A dagger to the gut

An ulcer on your tongue

A bug

Boring in your ear

A cancer in your lungs

He purrs

Like an ocelot

He nags like a thorn in the paw

You itch, scratch

And try to bat away

A rash

A relentless bellyache

You shiver and shake

You break out into a sweat and still

He moves in mysterious ways

Slithering, viper-like

Sinking fangs and

Getting under your skin
