On the sojourn, there was no pain

Devoid of feeling, numbness in my brain

My companion, my only friend

Had no beginning, had no end

And it split, said "Choose a side"!

Hastened my step, relaxed my mind

The air grew cold, as I quickened my breath

For only I knew, that each path held my death

I said Now! Right Now! Now! Right Now!

Not a word, unspoken truth

Distant voices, halting, breaking through

Piercing silence is closing in

Watch the world, spin and spin and spin

And my mind goes upside down

Smash the rubric, lead me from this game

Coming towards me, the lines on my face

Draped in leather, gold, emerald, lace

She appeared like a vision from grace - held out her hand

Rescue me from the tortured game now – take me from this land

As we walked, along in silence – not a spoken word

As we walked, we came to a pass - other voices I heard

Began to question from where she had come - why she'd chosen me

She levelled back demeaning and twisted – let out a scream

Before I knew it, I was back on the road – she'd vanished – she'd gone

Polly finished her meeting, Wrapped it up for the day

Stopped to see some dear old friends, it was on the way

Took the underground to her flat, Walked the five blocks home

Just another day in her life, Not a care in the world

Later on in the evening, she felt a chill in the air

Took some pills had a glass of wine - helped her fall asleep

As she lied there sleeping, Ghost slipped into her room

Bent down as if to kiss her

And Lifted Her Away. Away. Away!
