You would tell me it sounds pretty, put a smile on, and listen to it every single day that you could

Hey mamma

I miss you

And everyday gets a little harder as I think bout last time I was with you

The last time that you hugged me

We was standing in that closet

I was locked in there because I had all of these issues

Hey mamma

Seeing me raise my voice

But couldn't do a thing

Tryna set boundaries against the drama a woman can bring

As I was the only boy against my sisters

And all my life it was just me and them with you

Hey mamma

This one was hard for me to write

As I think about the luck I have to have you in my life

As I think about the last time you told me goodnight

And as I think about me leaving without saying goodbye

But hey mamma

I just hope it did hurt so bad

When you came home and you didn't see my bags

I empathise with that very moment that you had

As these tears fall down on this pen and this pad

But now these bags are now on the welcome mat

And I'm not tryna make anything harder

Just wanna look into your eyes and say
