Lyrics

Uh. Hold on, hold on. Mmmm. Hold on, hold on. Ahh. Oh yeah. I'm ready now
I'm about to blow your buzz on this one
I'm a make you feel some kind of way on this one
I'm a challenge ideologies and philosophies
And probably invade you comfort zone on this one
So, what's wrong with just having one beer? I don't know
Ask your pregnant wife
Maybe she could make it more clear
And while I'm on the topic of pregnancy
I'll use it as an analogy
To make my point with some logicality
First of all, most women get pregnant
And don't even realize until 4 to 5 weeks later; SURPRISE
So, just because you can down 4 or 5 and still get in a car and drive
Doesn't mean your spiritual armor hasn't been compromised
Ands that's what the devil's looking for, a kink in the armor
Don't forget. He's the master disarmer
He doesn't need you to get a DUI
He just need you not to realize that you've already been anesthetized
LISTEN
The moment that the liquor touches tongue
Is equivalent to when the marijuana touches lung
So, before you touch that distillate
Better meditate on First Peter 5:8
LISTEN
Sorry homie but being sober doesn't mean not being drunk
We're called to be great in the sight of the Lord, not to be punks
Don't believe me? Read Luke chapter 1:15
We should be filled with the Holy Spirit like a canteen
Then we can be sober like the one whom Jesus called great
Matthew chapter 11:11 is another verse to meditate
So, if among those born of women
There has been none greater than John the Baptist and John the Baptist
Would drink neither wine nor strong drink
If I'm trying to imitate him, what am I supposed to think
That it's ok conflate Jesus turning water into wine
As an approval for me to dabble with spirits when I recline
Maybe I'm trying to be a Puritan
Or act like an overzealous clergyman
Or trying to impose loads too heavy to handle
Those are Straw-men to me
Fallacies which I tear to shreds like a vandal
I'm just trying to to be great
You can keep on drinking
Go ahead and obfuscate
At least I got ya'll thinking
What I think is that conviving with drink shows effeminacy
It's the ultimate submission to a lower faculty
When real men convive
We convive in the Spirit
We no longer practice behaviors our children might inherit
Just because I may practice moderation
Doesn't mean my moderation carries over to the next generation
LISTEN
Some focus on their legacy
I focus on posterity
I'm making sure my great grandkids have moral clarity
And that requires sucking it up and bucking silly social trends
For the sake of His sorrowful passion
Use God's creation for medicinal purposes
Like when Paul gave in Timothy 5 his diagnosis
Or the monks who would brew that beer
So they could keep their strength as they fasted throughout the year
So, please don't shoot the messenger
I'm just a sweaty wrestler
Who's seeking after God's own heart like cardiovascular
And one last thing
If you still refer to alcohol as booze
Chances are you probably peaked in high school
