Lyrics

A lot of energy went into my reclusiveness
Camera Shy, How I identify my Elusiveness
Deep in thought often mistaken for a state of grimace
Silence in the shadows, how I handle business
I've never been the one for the light
I was raised in the dark, so I didn't see the plight
I'm inspired by Malcolm, I was told I had to fight
But I was raised on Obi Wan, I learned different ways to strike
Had to teach myself how to pick my battles
Not every war that's won, everyone can handle
So when I say I'm ready, I know it's a gamble
Losses like my wins, placed upon the mantel
Hang em like retired jerseys
Losses are my lessons, that's just how they serve me
But a loss is still a loss, I can feel it hurting
I can still hear my dawgs, like a X sermon
Telling me which way to go
I tend to follow guidance down these long roads
Road signs seem to only speak to me in codes
Saying that I came far, but I got more to go
Simulating marathons
I carry baggage like a flight, it's a carry on
Misplaced and Insecured, I'm housing vagabonds
Finding comfort in complacent, I feel something's wrong
Or maybe that's my body finding breaks
Cause I don't seem to take those, I hate to finish late
I bring food to the table so that others make a plate
I give out plenty, but room for many more who haven't ate
I care more for others than I do myself
Extending Olive Branches
Handling out small advances
Repeated felons look to me, expecting second chances
Tryna dirty up my water just to wash their hands in
And obsolve em of their wrongs
Walk a mile in their shoes and their track record long
Hear em speak, hear em sing, and they sound like swan songs
But truthfully, they saying lines, but they stole em all along
Force of Habit
It's hard for one to try and move forward when there's no traction
That's how i feel when Im writing these stories, with little action
Hard to keep attractions
It's hard for me to sit under the sun with no distractions
That life just ain't for me
I come alive after dark, that's why now I barely sleep
I've been said I'm the wolf, I ain't running with the sheep
I've seen names in the dirt, tryna keep mine own clean
Only now that I'm back in the public
Teaching kids right from wrong, it's the little discussions
Tryna guide em on they way, cause they need the instructions
No more hearings and summons
Tryna show em the summit
I ain't letting them plummet
Sacrifices for my future, is something I covet
Hope this fire last long like the barrel of a musket
And if it dies, Im hoping my last days would be long
Undertaking my opps, last thing heard is the gong
Prodigal son, wrote a lot of heat, sun in my palm
This is my church, lot of lessons be heard in a psalm
Vision was mine, but the way that we got it was ours
Came from a litter, but this one's for all of the dogs
Ain't been the type to send my own distant regards
I only speak when I'm sharing my word through the arts
Understand that every word comes from the heart
I just don't know where I should start..
