Sea of Forgetfulness

My past has been buried forever

Where it can no longer be found

God’s memory describes it as never

When voices of guilt come around

That bottomless sea of forgetfulness

That's where my sins went down

As far as the east is from the west

In an ocean of love my sins were drowned

I am forgiven by yesterday’s dead

I testify I’m beyond blessed

My record is clear my sin disappeared

In that sea of forgetfulness

I dare not once brag of perfection

Some days I take stumbling spells

But I ask the Lord for correction

And that ocean of grace never fails

I owe Him my deepest devotion

I’m washed in His blood and I’m free

His mercy and grace fills that ocean

Now my guilt has all ceased to be
