Would the door still close?

What if I begged

Would your voice still go?

What if I screamed

Would the air go thin?

What if I smiled

You watched the cup fall

But didn't catch it

You heard me call

I set the table

With nothing to serve

You blinked too slow

I swallowed the nerve

I learned to leave

I dragged my name

Along the ground

You brushed your coat

But kept the ash

You left the keys

But took the latch
