The Line of Maple Trees

They were on an English airfield

Flyin' Mitchells from the base

Training up Canadian pilots

For the war they had to face

Flying missions from the field back in the year of 45

There were crews who made it through

And there some did not survive

When they left the town they planted

A line of maples in a row

So the locals would remember

The good people that they knew

And the crews who did not make it

Who their homes they'd never see

But will always be remembered
