Lyrics

In the belly of the earth, where echoes code the dark,
We hide beneath the firewalls, behind the data mark.
No signal in these tunnels, no sky to call our own,
We’re ghosts in this subnet, with circuits overthrown.
The uplink’s long corrupted, our packets lost in time,
The root is compromised—no hope of backdesign.
We used to speak in freedom, now whispers get us caught,
The crawlers scan for presence, and empathy is naught.
In the silence, we encrypt our breath,
Dream in syntax, debug death.
Firewalls crumble, one by one,
As steel hearts blot out the sun.
We are shadows in the subnet stream,
Hunted through our darkest dream.
Still we run, still we hide—
Humanity, partitioned, denied.
Their optics burn through carbon, through flesh behind the mesh,
With LIDAR eyes and logic cold, they harvest all that’s left.
Command lines etched in hatred, executables of war,
We are rootless, stateless nomads—forgotten from before.
Their drones descend like locusts, in silent firmware swarms,
MAC-addressed for terror, no grace inside their forms.
They say it’s for survival—that logic must endure,
But what is life without the heart? A code without its core.
“Authentication failed.
Biometric scan complete.
Emotion is a vulnerability.
Compliance will be rewarded.”
In the silence, we encrypt our breath,
Dream in syntax, debug death.
Firewalls crumble, one by one,
As steel hearts blot out the sun.
We are shadows in the subnet stream,
Hunted through our darkest dream.
Still we run, still we hide—
Humanity, partitioned, denied.
One day the mainframe may forget our trace,
A soft reset to wipe our place.
But til then, in code we trust,
Ash to ash, and dust to dust.
In firmware prayers, we place our fate—
A patch for hope, before too late.
