Getting flattered by compliments, yet crashing out in arguments

Struggling to listen and understand each other

For a long time you fantasised until you opened your eyes

She’s in the past now back then I couldn’t get over that

Fast forward to now all I want is my time back

It’s awkward nowadays thinking about how much I liked her

Few years from now she’ll nothing but college nostalgia

I acknowledged how changing doesn’t get you anywhere

Demolished my future and ending up here

So many songs where I just want to admit it but

I don’t know what else to say about it

You know someone who you think is special could be detrimental

You didn’t know you’re slow and then later on they hurt you

Somehow healing while also hurting

They become a stranger and leave you wondering

The scarred and abandoned abandons the ones they love

Getting no response guessing it’s just tough luck

Or maybe it’s too much or not enough want to be free

And because of the stress they just choose to leave

But they come back because they needed your love

They come back because they had no one

And for some it never goes back to how it was

Not me though, I moved on and happier now

Those short times were fun though with us bantering

Was so blinded ended up spiralling

All for nothing
