Lyrics

Aye yo
Now I was ready to quit
I'm just being honest
No fuck that, I'm just being Thomas
Helps to see all this love for me when I read the comments
But you need to learn to love yourself
I'm still working on it
Bring it to the light, let it all get exposed
Every time I write, my confidence grows
I've been doing all right, I just thought you should know
It's not always a smooth ride
There's rocks on the road
Need a moment of silence
Lord forgive me for all those acts of violence
Sitting on the sideline, time passing by us
I wonder how our lives would differ if we had some guidance
But you did the best you could, that's what I told my mother
Every day I miss my papa yeah, I know he loved us
Growing up, I always looked up to my older brother
It's funny how it's only now we get to know each other
Hey yo, yo he's been through it all
Life came to a halt and drove him through a wall
Gotta have some restraint, I can't be too involved
But we the same, I feel his pain just like a voodoo doll
I used to hate the face that I would see up in the mirror
These painkillers never made the pain disappear
Started to fade but now I see the way crystal clear
Get out your way and block the hate, don't let it interfere
Don't let it interfere man
So many times I was in a rut, feeling down
Stay out your way block the hate
I've been looking for attention, but don't bother me
Wherever I go, there's a ghost that follows me
I think I owe me an apology
Cuz I was the only one that was stopping me
It just occurred to me, I never grew cuz I never gave me the courtesy
Never look within, I was searching for it externally
Now all the pieces of the puzzle are fitting perfectly
What can I take away from this
I used to feel ashamed that I wasn't faithful in my relationships
When I would think, I would starting to sink from the weight of it
Think it's safe to say that I paid for it
I flirted with death neglecting my health
Said whatever I felt, but it never helped
Looking for respect when I flex, what I've spent on a belt
But in retrospect, I never spent enough on myself
This the life I was given though, I didn't pick it
Woke up in the treatment center, I was self-admitted
Looking slim now, I'm in the gym working on my fitness
But don't think we ain't the same because our plight is different
I try to meditate
And to be better than whoever I was yesterday
Be patient no more haten gotta educate
Not everyone's on your level so try to separate
Try to separate
Try to separate
