I’ll never forget it…the spark that started this whole album was a simple invitation from God. A whisper I believe I heard Him say: 'Josh…sing.'

But the truth is I hadn’t released music in years. When I was seventeen, my father passed away to cancer. And a few years later my brother Jordan…at only sixteen was gone in a moment from a car accident. I guess you could say the music stopped.

I had sang in front of a televised audience of over 40 million people from around the world. I had a management deal. Radio promotion that was already paid for. Stages waiting. And yet…I walked away from it all. From the lights. The plans. From the future I thought I had. I stepped back to breathe…to heal…to make sense in the silence.

Friends thought it would take weeks. You know, maybe a few months. But the months turned into years…more than seven in fact…and still, I stayed quiet.

But somewhere in the middle of all that time, I learned something no stage could teach.

I learned that joy isn’t something that just shows up when life feels good.

Joy…is a choice.

And this album…LEAD…it’s my yes to God’s invitation. My journey back to the songs He put in me before the pain, before the silence, before I even knew how much I needed Him to lead me through it all.

This is me choosing joy. Choosing faith. Choosing to sing again and let God lead.”
