Lyrics

Can’t tell how long it’s been quiet.
Minutes… hours…
Doesn’t matter.
The storm’s gone,
But it left pieces of us behind.
Ash in the air, sun like a wound,
Boot prints fading, rifles strewn.
Flies already know their way,
Life don’t wait for what we pray.
Every breath tastes half alive,
The lucky ones are who survive.
You learn quick — survival ain’t the same as livin’.
Aftermath — where echoes stay,
Ghosts still talk, but fade away.
Aftermath — the silence bleeds,
No sound left but what it needs.
Aftermath — the world’s off track,
And there’s no clean way back.
Corpsman walks slow,
Marking who’s gone.
Someone hums an old song —
Just to fill the hole.
Names are whispered, not too loud,
No medals here, just shrouds.
Faith feels thin, like desert air,
But it’s all we’ve got to bear.
I find a shell half-buried deep,
Pocket it — a promise to keep.
The smoke thins out, the colors bend,
No one knows where wars really end.
Aftermath — where echoes stay,
Ghosts still talk, but fade away.
Aftermath — the silence bleeds,
No sound left but what it needs.
Aftermath — the world’s off track,
And there’s no clean way back.
You start counting breaths.
You stop counting reasons.
The desert don’t care —
It just remembers.
Sunset paints the same old sand,
Different blood, same land.
Aftermath — I hear them call,
From somewhere past it all.
Aftermath — I close my eyes,
And try to feel alive.
We made it through.
But that don’t mean we came back.
