Lyrics

I type a line, then delete it twice,
Trying to sound chill while my pulse says otherwise.
The screen lights up — my heart jumps high,
But it’s only some late-night discount sign.
You’ve got me acting like I’m calm and free,
But I’ve checked this screen more than I’d like to admit.
Every second feels like hours,
Staring at that “typing” line.
If I open it too early,
Would I lose my peace of mind?
Slow reply — why do I wait like this?
Heart online though I play it cool.
You take your time while I rehearse my lines,
Acting brave though I’m bending my rules.
Slow reply — I refresh again,
Just to see that nothing changed.
You don’t know how loud it gets
When you leave me in this space.
I breathe in, breathe out, pretend I’m fine,
But you’ve been typing in my mind all night.
I turn my phone face-down like I don’t care,
But my eyes keep drifting there.
I set it to “Do Not Disturb,”
Like that would stop the thoughts I’ve heard.
Maybe you’re busy — or maybe you’re bold,
Leaving me waiting just to see if I’ll fold.
Every second feels like pressure,
But I won’t let it make me beg.
You can take your royal silence —
But don’t think I’ll break.
Maybe I care more than I should,
Maybe you like holding that power.
But I don’t chase what doesn’t move —
I just watch… for now.
So take your time, be mysterious,
But don’t forget — I notice everything.
Slow reply — keep me on the edge,
Hanging on to every sign.
You don’t text but I still stay,
Caught between read and goodbye.
Slow reply — I’ll wait tonight,
But don’t think I’ll wait for life.
You might think I’m still in line —
But remember, silence cuts both sides.
You owe me more than just a dot on a screen.
