Lyrics

The windows cry, I let them speak,
their voices drip, they sound like me.
The walls are wet, they hum my name,
and every drop repeats the same.
My ceiling leaks forgotten dreams,
the carpet drowns in quiet screams.
I open blinds, but the light won’t stay,
the rain inside won’t wash away.
Umbrellas bloom outside my door,
but no one knocks, not anymore.
They think it’s clear, they think I’m fine—
but I’ve been drowning all this time.
It rains inside me, no one sees,
I flood in silence, quietly.
The storm is calm, the pain is neat,
a perfect storm beneath my feet.
It rains inside me, soft and slow,
and no one asks where does it go.
I smile, I breathe, I say “I’m good”…
but no one hears the thunderhood.
My mirror fogs, I draw a heart,
it melts before I make the mark.
The roof above begins to shake,
I whisper low, “please let it break.”
I wear my sadness like perfume,
it fills the corners of my room.
I play a song, but it just cries,
I think the rain knows all my lies.
I built this flood to feel alive,
to see if something might survive.
The water climbs, the lights grow dim,
I start to float instead of swim.
It rains inside me, no one sees,
I flood in silence, quietly.
The storm is calm, the pain is neat,
a perfect storm beneath my feet.
It rains inside me, soft and slow,
and no one asks where does it go.
I smile, I breathe, I say “I’m fine”…
while lightning writes across my mind.
“Don’t open the door,
you’ll drown in my floor.
This rain’s not for you,
it’s the only thing true.”
The sun is out, they walk away,
but I’m still raining anyway.
It rains inside me, it always will…
a gentle storm that won’t stay still.
