Lyrics

Locks on his wrists and I hold the key
But I feel the weight while he seems free
He's marked for death, so the orders say
But he's just as busy as yesterday
Those Shackles those chains should mean disgrace
But the look in his eyes says he's won this race
He's wrapped in chains
Yet he walks unbound
I stand silent
But hear the sound
A kingdom rising
A whisper, a flame
A voice that is almost
Calling my name
They gather around, write his words on a page
Learning of freedom, from a man in a cage
The rich and the poor, the students and scribes
They live out his words, changing their lives
His armor is light, shining like stars
Rejoicing in spirit despite all his scars
He shows no shame, no hint of fear
I start to wonder"Who's the prisoner here?"
He's wrapped in chains
Yet he walks unbound
I stand silent
But hear the sound
A kingdom rising
A whisper, a flame
A voice that I hear
Calling my name
The dawn lit the sky, he knelt down to pray
Then he called me his brother as they led him away
He walked to his death, but I felt the blow
He met the sword and the world bowed low
His words echo thunder, each letter a seed
New cracks in the marble, the ghost of a creed
He was wrapped in chains
Yet he walks unbound
I stood silent
But hear the sound
A kingdom rising
A whisper, a flame
A voice that I search for
Calling my name
The prisoner is free and I remain
