Lyrics

I walk the line they drew in dust,
A line they called good, a line they called right.
They told me the rules were older than blood,
Older than sin, older than breath —
But I see the cracks in their scripture,
I hear the rust in their prayer.
Plastic morality is on every shelf,
Shiny and hollow, cheap and aware.
They sell forgiveness in glass bottles,
They auction guilt by the gram.
Every virtue's got a barcode now,
Every sin's got a brand.
What's right? What's wrong?
It's the same old song.
What's truth? What's lie?
It's the same alibi.
What's holy? What's real?
It's the price of the deal.
What's freedom? What's fate?
It's the story they create.
The preacher wears a tailored suit,
The sinner signs a loan.
Justice shakes hands with profit,
And they carve their names in stone.
Plastic morality keeps the surface clean,
it hides the rot beneath the floor.
It keeps the poor from rising,
It keeps the rich from war.
And I keep walking the wire,
Barefoot and blind.
I keep asking the question,
They keep selling me time.
They say good is obedience.
They say evil is need.
They say virtue is patience.
They say power is greed.
They say mercy is weakness.
They say justice is law.
But I've seen saints become monsters,
And liars stand in awe.
We built our heaven on bones and debt,
We call it peace, we call it pride.
We nail our doubts to glowing screens
And hide our shame inside.
And if morality still breathes beneath all this noise,
It whispers in the alleys,
It bleeds through the cracks,
It's something the system forgot how to name.
What's right? What's wrong?
What's weak? What's strong?
What's pure? What's paid?
What's lost? What's made?
And who are we
When the lights go out?
