Lyrics

You want me to do a song that's about the Small Catechism
Maybe I'll do like Professor Lohrmann does,
I'll do like, uh, an acoustic guitar, a harmonica
Hmm….Naaaaaah…I'mma drop the beat like
BOOM! Let's drop that Small Catechism in the
ROOM! So I can show 'em all what I'm 'bout to
DO! Even if they're all on
ZOOM! Let's DO this
I'm openin' the book like a lock that guards the human core
Small Catechism wisdom, rhythm's what the law is for
Ain't oppression, it's direction for connection we tore
Reflection in correction, showin' grace at the moral door
"No other gods," first law carved in heart and tone
'Cause idols crumble when you face what's truly on the throne
Second, guard the Name, let it claim your speech alone
God's Word ain't slang, it's breath and it's bone (PREACH IT!)
Third, keep the Sabbath, restin' ain't a waste of time
It's sacred space, recharge of faith and peace of mind
Fourth, honor your parents, that's legacy refined
Roots hold the fruit, that's the law that's aligned
Fifth, don't kill, not just blood, but hate concealed
Every grudge you build's a blade that's unhealed
Sixth, stay faithful, keep love revealed
And Covenant's real, no cheap thrill will be sealed
Seventh, don't steal, let contentment grow
What's earned in grace outweighs what any greed can show
Eighth, guard the truth, your neighbor deserves to know
Speak life, not lies, let your honesty flow, brother
Ninth and tenth, don't covet what you don't possess
Gratitude's the attitude that cleans all that mess
Law points out where the soul is distressed
But the Creed gon' teach ya how we are truly blessed
And the law showed the fracture, the cracks where we lost our hold
Now the Creed speaks belief, the story faith retold
From the dust to the dawn, confession makes us bold
"I believe" ain't a phrase, it's the heart turned gold
I believe in God, the Father Almighty above
That's the Maker of heaven and earth, that's origin wrapped in love
Creation's narration, foundation we're part of
And I got the image of grace in place, and that's what we're made of
I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son, our Lord
Conceived by the Spirit, born in flesh, that's the Word restored
Walked where we walked, mercy cut through the sword
Crucified, died, buried, sin's debt scored
On the third day He rose, death's gate thrown wide
Ascended to the throne where the saints abide
Seated with the Father, where justice and mercy collide
And He's comin' again, that's all truth verified
I believe in the Holy Spirit, Ruach that breathes
Wind that whispers in chaos, creation believes
Breath before words, presence in what deceives
The church, the saints, forgiveness, that's what She weaves
Resurrection of the body, life eternal proclaimed
From the grave to the glory, every soul renamed
The law showed the need, and Creed revealed the claim
Now we pray to the Father, Hallowed be His name
Now we move from belief to the breath of the faithful cry
Lord's Prayer's, the rhythm where heaven and hearts align
It's not just words, it's relationship redefined
Conversation with the Creator, soul intertwined
"Our Father in heaven," that's belonging's start
Not distant or foreign, but close to the heart
"Hallowed be Your name", we honor each part
Every breath is a hymn, every act is an art
"Your kingdom come," that's rebellion to despair
A call for the world to reflect God's care
"Your will be done," we surrender the snare
Heaven's agenda in the world we share
"Give us this day our daily bread," we trust provision's flow
Not excess or greed, just enough to grow
"Forgive us our debts," that mercy we owe
As we forgive others, that's grace we show
"Lead us not into temptation," in iterations - we meet frustration
We need grace as our foundation, not our own salvation - or cheap libation
Deliver us from evil, upheaval's imitation of creation
Kingdom, power, glory, final transformation
Every prayer's a pulse that keeps faith alive
Communion in language, where the souls can survive
From prayer to presence, next truth arrives
In the Sacraments, grace materialized
Baptized in the cipher, the Spirit writes where the water hits
Cross on my skin, grace inscribed where the fault admits
Drowned that sin, resurrection rhythm restores the wit
Word in the water, promise locked, that's the ultimate
Not just a symbol, it's rhythm and reason incarnate truth
God's Word spoken, unbroken, written in spirit proof
Infants or elders, same mercy from the living root
Washed in the Name, reclaiming the holy pursuit
Bread breaks, Christ present, body within the meal
Wine poured, covenant sealed, forgiveness made real
And Heaven revealed in a simple field of taste and feel
Word, water, and table, that's how the faith's sealed
Not superstition, it's mission and mercy intertwined
Flesh meets divine in design that redeems mankind
Heaven's rewind every time that the cup's assigned
The bread's sign is Christ aligned in the soul's mind
The rail's the meeting of sinners and saints restored
Every "Amen" sounds like thunder from the Lord
And your knees to the floor, grace pours, can't be ignored
Love in the elements, Spirit through the chord
Beat starts fading, but Word keeps breathing on
Catechism in rhythm, six truths laced in song
Law, Creed, Prayer, Grace, Command, Confess, Belong
The Word don't fade, it just keeps burning strong
