Lyrics
I walk in quiet shadows while the others take the light,
names get called like echoes fading into night.
I smile like it’s nothing, like it never breaks my chest,
but I’m always the leftover that nobody requests.
I keep pretending I don’t feel the sting,
telling myself I don’t need anything.
Still, every time my name comes after all,
it’s like learning how to lose before I fall.
I’m always last,
the one they look past,
the voice unheard,
the ghost in the photograph.
I’m always last,
but somehow I last—
holding on to pieces that the others never grasp.
They choose their favorites, and I watch from far behind,
trying to fit in spaces that were never meant for mine.
I don’t ask for pity, just a place that feels like home,
but I’m the name you whisper only when you’re left alone.
I keep pretending I don’t feel the sting,
telling myself I don’t need anything.
Maybe being last is all I’ve ever known,
standing still while everyone has grown.
I’m always last,
the one they look past,
the voice unheard,
the ghost in the photograph.
I’m always last,
but somehow I last—
holding on to pieces that the others never grasp.
If I fade in silence, will the world still turn?
If I leave unnoticed, will anyone learn
that the last in line still carries a heart,
broken maybe—
but not torn apart?
I’m always last,
the one they walk past,
but maybe last
is where I learn to stand.
I’m always last,
but somehow I last—
even in the shadows,
I refuse to collapse
