Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I use to live my life static
But you taught me how to manage
You found the way to love me ev-
En though I don’t know how to love me
Never would get close to my friends
Real relations never begin
I don’t mean to sound dramatic
But I talk like ghosts through static
Unquiet mind runnin’ manic
I would live every day sad, it
Is how I would view the planet
A mind set that is so tragic
Feel sown from different fabric
Couldn’t make friends in my classes
Talkin’ to them felt like traffic
Instead of speakin’ I’d vanish
Into poems where I can sit
Let the words of my soul transmit
With my ghosts causin’ their racket
Felt like my thoughts were just blabbin’
Like loneliness was a habit
Lost in rhythms I’d imagine
But you make me feel ecstatic
Guess I’m sayin’, would you love me
Even if I just can’t love me
[Hook]
I’ve been at war with my own reflection,
Chasin’ peace through divine correction.
Even when I can’t feel Your grace today,
You still love me anyway
(x2)
[Verse 2]
Since a child, I was bleak and hectic
Lived a trial, never felt connected
Been a while since I’ve reflected
On the miles my mind dissected
Grew up in a mess, felt neglected
My father? Truth is, I can’t respect him
Not bothered with him, dead in my breath
God’s my only Author; He scripts my death
To my donor, it may not sound like Christ’s love
But I hate what you’ve done with all my guts
Yeah, it’s an inner war I gotta wrestle
Still can’t stand the thought of that wasted vessel
A space that shaped me, then erased my heritage
DNA vacant, can’t trace their image
Found peace in poetry, made that my influence
Separated from the rest, don’t care for inclusion
Raised myself through breath, became a nuisance
Stewarded words till I learned my prudence
Nowadays I feel like a puzzle unsolved
Honestly, depression makes a mess of us all
And lookin’ at it, if you raised me
I would’ve never become me
[Hook]
I’ve been at war with my own reflection,
Chasin’ peace through divine correction.
Even when I can’t feel Your grace today,
You still love me anyway
(x2)
